Nurturing Your Baby's Health from the Beginning

Hello there, I'm Ros, and I love to teach and inform expectant parents about Microbirth.

Join one of my Microbirth workshops and together we'll explore the fascinating world of the infant microbiome and discover how the choices you make during pregnancy, birth, and the newborn period can have a lasting impact on your baby's health.

Our workshops empower expectant parents with knowledge that helps lay the foundation for their baby's well-being from day one. By joining us during pregnancy, you’ll be giving your little one the best start in life!

What is the Microbiome?

The microbiome refers to the community of trillions of beneficial microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microbes, that reside in and on the body. This microbial community plays a vital role in the immune system, digestion, and overall health.

Why is the Infant Microbiome Important?

The infant microbiome is important for many reasons including:

  • Immune System Development: A healthy microbiome helps train the baby's immune system to distinguish between harmful, harmless and beneficial substances, reducing the risk of allergies and autoimmune diseases.

  • Digestive Health: Beneficial microbes aid in the digestion and absorption of nutrients, promoting optimal growth and development. They aid metabolism and some also produce vitamins.

  • Disease Prevention: A healthy microbiome can protect against infections and reduce the likelihood of conditions such as eczema, asthma and obesity.
