Appointments will cover:

Health Monitoring: Regular physical, pathological (blood tests) and emotional health assessments, with your discussion and consent. We'll discuss the rationale and timing of all tests, the implications of the results and suggested timeline for follow up. Which tests are right for someone else may not sit well with you, and so we’ll work together to find what best works for you.

Baby’s Development: Monitoring growth, movements, heartbeat, and requesting and following up on the recommended scans.

Informed Decision-Making: Guidance on blood tests and scans, procedures and policies, assisting you to make informed choices.

Pregnancy Navigation: Learning what is normal or common in pregnancy, supporting you to understand hospital processes and the healthcare system.

Parent Education: Independent information on childbirth and parenting, including pain relief options, how to prepare for labour or caesarean and breastfeeding/infant feeding education, to name a few. We let you know what your options are, not just what the hospital policy is.​

When should I start antenatal care?
It’s never too early to start! Ideally, antenatal care should begin as soon as you know you’re pregnant. This allows you, your partner and your baby maximum time to optimise health and happiness that comes with a fully-supported pregnancy.
How often do I need antenatal visits?
First-time mums typically need around 10–12 visits, while subsequent pregnancies may require 7–10 visits.
Can I have my antenatal appointments at home?
Yes, we offer home visits to provide care in the comfort of your own home. Fees incorporate travel time to and from your in-home care. Where distance is greater than 30 mins from Glengowrie, a $30 fee is charged to contribute to travel time and fuel.
